We pride ourselves that the staff team at Robert Owen are long standing and know the local community well. Staff are committed to their own professional development that fits with the changing needs of the centre, children and families.

The Head teacher, Deputy Head teacher and Inclusion Coordinator are qualified to Masters level.
There are seven nursery classes of mixed aged children between 2 and 4+ years. Each class team include a qualified early years specialist teacher (with qts), and support staff qualified to level 2, 3 and above. 18 of our staff are graduates with 4 staff qualified to Masters level and three more working towards this.
It is the policy of our nursery school to ensure there are always sufficient staff to give the children the care, attention and teaching and learning opportunities they need.
The staff members do not fall below the recommended staff:child ratio set by Ofsted which are
2 year olds 1 adult to 4 children
3 - 4 year olds core day 1 qualified Teacher and EY Practitioner equivelant to 26 children
3 - 4 year olds extended day 1 adult to 8 children
The number of permanent staff is always in excess of requirements, with the Head, Deputy and SENCo available to cover in the event of staff absence.
